📅 Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
You will depart Nairobi in the morning for Amboseli National Park, which is truly classic Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery, it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Against this magnificent backdrop, vast herds of elephants are accompanied by a kaleidoscope of other fabulous animals. You’ll arrive at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge in time for check-in and a delicious lunch. The afternoon will be spent on a game drive in search of the “Big Five.”
Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The principal attraction here is the vast herds of elephants, but other plains game includes zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, impalas, leopards, and caracals. The park also boasts a rich birdlife, including pelicans, Egyptian geese, and saddle-billed storks.

Day 3: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park
We will depart Amboseli in the morning and drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch. The park features one of the largest concentrations of black and white rhinoceros in the world. Predators here include lions (which occasionally climb trees), leopards, and large pythons. Spend the afternoon exploring the lake’s shores, famous for its flamingos and pelicans.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into Maasai land, where red-clad warriors tend their herds among the wildlife. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge in the Maasai Mara. In the afternoon, depart for a game drive in search of wildlife in this vast, world-renowned reserve.

Day 5: Full Day in Maasai Mara National Reserve
Spend a full day exploring the park in search of the “Big Five.” The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe—over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. From late June to October, it hosts the spectacular annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti.
(Optional Activities: A dawn Hot Air Balloon Safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$450 per person, or a visit to a local Maasai village for US$35 per person).

Day 6: Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Naivasha—the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes, famous for its birdlife and hippos. Arrive for lunch at your resort. In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat ride along Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island, where you will enjoy a guided nature walk right next to grazing zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and waterbucks in a predator-free environment.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha to Nairobi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge. Afterward, you will check out and drive back to Nairobi. You will arrive in the early afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward travel.
