Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park Depart Nairobi in the morning for a scenic drive into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. The park is a sanctuary for both Black and White Rhinos and offers spectacular birdwatching opportunities. Enjoy an afternoon game drive along the lakeshore.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve After breakfast, drive further south to the world-renowned Maasai Mara. Arrive for lunch at your camp. In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling game drive to spot the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo) in their natural habitat.
Day 3: Full Day in Maasai Mara Spend the entire day exploring the vast savannahs of the Mara. Your 4x4 Land Cruiser will take you close to the action. If visiting between July and October, you may witness the dramatic Great Wildebeest Migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush or return to the lodge for a hot meal.
Day 4: Maasai Mara to Tarangire (Tanzania) Start early for your cross-border journey into Tanzania. You will cross the border (Namanga or Isebania depending on logistics) and proceed to Tarangire National Park. Passing through the countryside, you will witness the changing landscapes before arriving at your camp in Tarangire for the evening.
Day 5: Full Day in Tarangire National Park Explore Tarangire, famous for having one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania. The park’s landscape is dotted with ancient Baobab trees, creating a stunning backdrop for photography. Look out for tree-climbing lions and rare antelopes like the Fringe-eared Oryx.
Day 6: Tarangire to Arusha/Kilimanjaro (Departure) After a final morning game drive and breakfast, depart for Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, marking the end of your East African safari.
